WAM® 99 VS NC – Silica Based No Cement Castable

WAM® VS 99 NC is a special purpose no cement containing castable.  It is composed primarily of vitreous silica aggregate. This allows the material to be suitable for use up to 1900oF in a cyclic environment. It can be used at continuous temperatures up to 3000oF but cannot be cooled down after exceeding 2000oF without causing damage to the refractory.


WAM® VS 99 NC finds its primary area of application in coke ovens. Specifically for repair, doors and precast shapes. Because it is cement free it is not susceptible to attack by sulfuric acid which can occur in this application. It is also resistant to thermal shock below 1900oF and abrasion resistant.
